For many travelers the most stressful part of a package holiday is not the flight, it is the moment after landing. A foreign airport, a crowd at the exit, and the question: where do I go now? The good news is that with a charter package this part is already solved. In this guide we explain exactly how transfers and destination reps work, using our programs for Antalya and Hurghada as examples, because the two of them cover almost every situation you will meet.
Arrival: the group transfer is included
In every charter package the transfer from the airport to your hotel and back is part of the price. When you exit the arrivals hall, a representative of our local partner is waiting, usually with a clearly marked sign. Your job is simple: find the rep, say your name, and you will be directed to the right bus or minivan. One practical note that people forget in the excitement, your luggage is your responsibility during the transfer, so count your bags before the bus leaves. The bus then drops passengers at their hotels one by one, which means the ride can take a while if your hotel is at the end of the route. In the Antalya region, where resorts stretch from Alanya to Kemer, this matters more than in compact destinations.
The return transfer: how you find out the time
The part that raises the most questions is the trip back. Charter flight times are confirmed roughly 24 hours before departure, and the return transfer is scheduled to match. You will get the pickup time while you are at the destination, usually through a notice at the hotel reception or directly from the rep. If the day before departure comes and you still have no information, do not wait, contact the rep or call us. Be at the reception at the agreed time with your luggage ready, transfers run on a schedule and the bus collects guests from several hotels.
What the rep actually does
The rep is your person on the ground for the whole stay. In our Hurghada and Antalya programs the price includes the services of a representative, and on several destinations the rep speaks Serbian. The rep confirms the return transfer, helps if there is a problem with the room or the hotel service, and is the first call if something unexpected happens. Save the rep's number as soon as you get it, it is on your travel documents, and you will very likely never need it, but when you do, it is worth more than any review site.
Private transfers: when they make sense
If you land with small children after a long flight, or your hotel is far from the airport, a private transfer can be a good investment. In our Antalya program the round trip prices per vehicle are fixed: Lara and Kundu from 140 euros, Belek from 160 euros, Kemer from 200 euros, Side from 250 euros and Alanya from 300 euros for a car taking up to 4 passengers, with a minivan for up to 9 passengers costing about 50 euros more. Split between a family or two couples, the difference against an hour or two on a shared bus is often small. In Egypt there is one special case worth knowing: the transfer to Marsa Alam requires a minimum of 2 passengers, a solo traveler pays an 85 euro supplement.
Before you book
