Charter to Rhodes from Belgrade: How the Package Actually Works

Rhodes has been one of the most booked Greek islands among our travelers for years, and the reasons are simple. The direct charter flight from Belgrade takes around two hours, the island counts more than 300 sunny days a year, and the hotel offer ranges from solid family properties to five star resorts sitting right on the beach. In this guide we walk through everything worth knowing before you book a package for Rhodes: which days the flights operate, how long the stays are, what the price includes and what you pay on the spot.

Flight days and length of stay

Flights to Rhodes depart directly from Nikola Tesla Airport on Air Serbia, flight JU520. Three stay lengths are on offer: 7 nights departing Wednesday, 10 nights also on Wednesday, and 11 nights departing Saturday. The Wednesday plane takes off at 11:50 and lands on Rhodes at 14:50 local time, so by mid afternoon you are already by the pool. The Saturday departure for the 11 night stay leaves at 13:00 and lands at 16:00. Return flights are in the afternoon, which means the last day is not lost to an early wake up call. The 10 and 11 night options suit travelers who want a longer summer break without connections and airport waiting.

What the price covers

The package includes return flights Belgrade to Rhodes and back, airport taxes (around 51 euros per person at the time of publishing, subject to change), the YQ fuel surcharge, a group transfer from the airport to your hotel and back, reserved and confirmed accommodation, and the service of a representative who speaks Serbian throughout your stay. In practice this means someone waits for you at Rhodes airport, points you to the right bus, and remains available for the whole stay. Optional excursions are organized locally and paid separately.

Luggage, children and the small print that matters

Each passenger may check in 23 kilograms of luggage and carry 8 kilograms on board. Infants under two do not get a seat and pay a flat 35 euros, with a 10 kilogram allowance that covers a stroller as well. One important detail: if a baby turns two during the trip, it must have its own seat both ways and the child fare applies. Arrive at the airport at least two and a half hours before departure. Travel documents arrive by email no later than 24 hours before the flight. Your passport must be valid for at least six months after return, and check children's passports carefully since they are issued for shorter periods.

What you pay on the spot

Greece charges a tourist tax at the hotel reception: 2 euros per room per night for one and two star properties, 5 euros for three stars, 10 euros for four and 15 euros for five stars. Travel health insurance is not included in the price and we strongly recommend arranging it before departure, along with cancellation insurance. Sunbeds on public beaches, drinks outside your board basis and excursions also go from your own pocket.

Where to stay: our five star picks

Rodos Palladium spreads over 30,000 square meters along a 400 meter beach of sand and pebbles that holds a Blue Flag award, with free sunbeds and parasols. The complex mixes a six floor main building with lower wings and even rooms with private pools, 3 kilometers from Faliraki and about 8 from Rhodes Town. Packages start from 3010 euros for two people.

Kresten Royal Euphoria Resort sits on the east coast in Kallithea, a beachfront estate of 150,000 square meters just 6 kilometers from Rhodes Town. Rooms go from garden view doubles of 34 square meters up to junior suites with a private pool and sea view. From 2750 euros for two people.

Elysium Resort & Spa is the design lover's choice: three modern buildings on a 400 meter Blue Flag sandy beach near Kallithea, with premium rooms redesigned in 2024 and superior rooms featuring a jacuzzi. From 3040 euros for two people.

Eden Roc is a large family resort in Kallithea made up of a main building and bungalows, on a sand and pebble beach with free sunbeds, only 4 kilometers from Rhodes Town. A practical pick for families who want space and short transfers. From 2850 euros for two people.

A few final tips

Hotel check in is usually after 14:00 and check out by 10:00 on the last day. For the return transfer, be at the reception 15 minutes before the scheduled pick up. Booking confirmation arrives within two working days after the deposit, and if it does not, the full advance is refunded. If you are comparing Rhodes with other islands in our offer, our advisors will gladly walk you through the differences before you decide.
