The Hurghada charter has been the most booked Egypt programme in our office for years, and for summer 2026 you fly directly from Belgrade with Air Cairo. If this is your first trip to Egypt, this guide walks you through the whole journey, from the check-in counter in Belgrade to the return landing, so nothing surprises you along the way. Hurghada sits on the Red Sea coast, the water is warm and clear deep into autumn, and the season stretches far longer than anywhere in the Mediterranean.
Departure days and length of stay
The programme is unusually flexible for a charter. You can choose 6, 9, 10 or 13 nights. Nine-night stays depart on Sundays and Tuesdays, ten-night stays on Wednesdays and Fridays, while Saturdays are reserved for 6 and 13 nights. Subject to availability, 6 and 13 nights can also be booked on any departure day, so with a little planning you can match the trip to your annual leave almost to the day. That is a real advantage over classic seven-night formulas.
What departure day looks like
You gather at Belgrade airport two and a half hours before the flight. Air Cairo flight SM 388 takes off at 06.30 and lands in Hurghada around 10.50 local time. A representative waits for you at the airport and directs you to the transfer to your hotel, so by early afternoon you are already checking in. Rooms are handed over after 14.00, and our advice is to pack swimwear in your hand luggage, most resorts let you use the pool and restaurants while you wait for the room.
The return and what the last day looks like
The return flight SM 387 departs at 03.05 local time and lands in Belgrade at 05.30, which means the transfer to the airport leaves late in the evening of your last day. Rooms are vacated by 12.00, but every hotel has a luggage room and you spend the afternoon on the beach or by the pool. If you want to keep the room longer, you pay the extra service directly at reception, subject to availability.
What the price includes
The package covers the return flight, airport taxes of around 130 euros, group transfers between the airport and the hotel, the confirmed hotel service and representative assistance on the spot. Checked luggage of 23 kg plus 8 kg of hand luggage is included per passenger. Travel health insurance, optional excursions and the Egyptian visa are paid separately. The visa costs 30 dollars per passport on arrival, before passport control, or 17 dollars if you arrange it at the embassy in Belgrade at least two weeks before departure. Your passport must be valid at least six months after the return date.
Travelling with children
Children under two pay 60 euros for the flight, travel without a seat and are entitled to 10 kg of checked luggage, enough for a stroller and a small case. Child discounts in hotels apply when the child shares a room with two adults, and you must state the exact date of birth at booking because hotels check it on arrival.
Which hotels we recommend
For couples who want peace, Steigenberger Makadi, from 1875 euros for two people, is an adults-only resort for guests over 16, set inside the Madinat Makadi golf complex with spacious rooms of about 46 square metres and a shuttle to the sandy beach. A similar concept with a completely different vibe is Cook's Club El Gouna, from 1869 euros for two people, right on the El Gouna lagoon with its own beach, a pontoon and a 400 metre footbridge to Zeytouna Beach and the coral reefs. Families should look at Amarina Queen Resort & Aqua Park, from 1866 euros for two people, a modern resort opened in 2023 with its own sandy beach, a pontoon entry into the sea and family rooms. If you prefer the quieter Marsa Alam area, Amarina Jannah Heights, from 1827 euros for two people, sits in Port Ghalib on a private beach 520 metres long, only 10 km from Marsa Alam airport, so the transfer takes minutes. Note that the Marsa Alam transfer runs for a minimum of two passengers.
A few practical tips
Book early for July and August because Saturday departures fill up first. Exchange a small amount of dollars for tips and the visa before you travel. And check the exact flight time with us 24 to 48 hours before departure, charter timings can shift slightly and we always notify passengers in good time.
